This 1895 historic home had suffered from two main problems: some historic elements had simply become weathered and damaged, and its old design made modern living a challenge. First, all damaged pieces were removed and replaced, often with custom milled pieces that matched the existing style perfectly. Some rare finds, like an antique cabinet, were refinished with such care that the family now stores their most treasured china in it. Next, the kitchen was remodeled to help the owner make the most of their joy for cooking and flair for entertaining. A cluster of odd shaped tiny rooms were converted into a stunning master suite and new laundry. And finally, the rarely used screened porch was converted into a sun porch that retains the symmetry of the home while providing the homeowners a beautiful, functional room they use every day.
